Gail’s Life Master Journey
Â
I began playing bridge in the early 1970’s brought along by my husband who was already a Life Master.  Soon enough jobs and children and life interfered and I didn’t resume playing until after retirement.  I was living at the time in San Francisco Bay Area which had a thriving bridge scene.  There were local club games 7 days a week and frequent Sectionals and Regionals.  I was active in our local Unit 508 and served as President 3 terms.  Three years ago I moved to Kansas City to be closer to family.  I play a couple of days a week at The Bridge Studio in Overland Park and was recently elected to the Board there. Knowing that I could count on the local bridge community as a source of friendship and companionship really helped ease what was a pretty big life transition.  I continue to play on-line with several of my California partners.  Although I’m traveling less frequently to Regionals and NABC’s these days, I do plan to go to San Francisco this December to play with my on-line friends IRL. Â
