Dear District 15 Members:
As many of you know, the Spring 2017 NABC will be held next March in Kansas City with over 4,000 players attending 10 days of play or approximately 10,000 tables. Tournaments of this magnitude incur heavy costs. In an effort to provide the best District hospitality, we are in the process of several fund raising efforts.
Our District has a role in this fundraising. Our Units have the opportunity to raise money through a Silent Auction to be held at the Kansas City Regional with bidding starting December 27, 2016 and ending at midnight on December 29, 2016.
We need your help. We need your help in securing auction items – personal items and gift certificates. We ask that all items and gift certificates have a value of $50 or more. Personal items – paintings, jewelry, sports memorabilia, wine, new coffee table books, small household items including décor items, new or like new items you may have received and would like to “re-gift.” Our preference is for portable items that the winning bidder can easily take home.
Other auction items could be the use of a timeshare or condo. Gift certificates --- gather gift certificates from local restaurants and attractions that your local members would like to bid on. Attached is a letter you can use to approach your local businesses.
How to participate: Items for bid should be listed on the attached Donation list and either given to or mailed to Nancy Trager by December 1, 2016. We will put a list of the items on the District Website ( www.District15.org ) prior to the Regional for District members wishing to view the items prior to the tournament. Bring your items to the Kansas City Regional Tournament by December 26, 2016. If you are not attending the tournament, please send the item(s) with a member who is attending.
